Gummi Bears

Greetings friend and fellow readers of the Painter's Chronicle. It's Robert P. Holme KBE. here, wishing to share with you some of my thoughts and poetry. I am also pleased to inform you all that I will be returning to this Easter Edition of the Painter's Chronicle for another Holme Page.

Also, I'm sad to say that I still haven't found a publisher willing to publish my play, Lost. However, the search continues.
Anyway, here's a little ballad I wrote about one of my favourite foods; Gummi Bears. Sometimes I have them for breakfast, with a slight dashing of coca-cola. Which is, in itself, oxymoronic. Why should I have a breakfast consisting of corporate food brands, when I'm a member of Greenpeace and a long-time civil rights activist?

In my upcoming Holme Page, there will be a short essay entitled Greenpeace and Me. Anyway, here is my poem - Gummi Bears.

Gummi Bears, oh Gummi Bears,
How still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep,
the Silent stars go by.
Yet Hark! The nutrition wars sound out,
across the mottled earth.
Oh Gummi Bears, Sweet Gummi Bears
I live thee in thine girth.
